INGREDIENTS
*For MasalaPaste*
1 tsp - Oil
1 inch - Cinnamon
2 pods - Cardamom
3 nos - Cloves
1/2 tsp - Fennel seeds
4 cloves - Garlic
1/2 inch - Ginger
One medium size onion sliced
One medium size tomato chopped
1/4 cup - Coconut grated
1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp - Red chilli powder
1/2 tsp - Garam masala
1/2 tsp - Coriander powder
1/4 cup - Water
*For Curry*
2 tsp - Coconut oil
1 tsp - Mustard
1 dried red chilli
Few curry leaves
Salt as required
HOW TO PREPARE:
1. In a kadai, heat 1 tsp oil, add all spices and saute for a minute.
2. add sliced onion and chopped tomato, saute well
3. now add 1/4 cup coconut grated and add all masala powder, saute for 2 minutes. Let it cool
4. Transfer to the blender
5. add 1/4 cup water and blend to smooth paste
6. In a kadai, heat 2 tsp coconut oil, 1 tsp mustard, dried chill, few curry leaves
7. add prepared masala paste and saute for 2 minutes
8. add cooked black chana and salt to taste
9. mix well consistency water as required
10. cover and cook for 5 - 10 minutes
11. finally kadala curry is ready to serve with puttu, chapati, appam
